MISSION

MONIC IS AN ASSOCIATION THAT PROMOTES COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION WITHIN THE FIELDS OF CONSCIOUSNESS STUDY


Its aim is, among other things, to strengthen rigor in this field of research while bringing it closer to society, in order to make the concept more accessible and understandable. This Montreal-based initiative aspires to have a global impact by building a broader community in Canada and beyond.

 

MONIC organizes events, conferences, workshops, activities and gatherings to discuss and promote the study of consciousness.

Canadian Consciousness Research Symposium

The third edition of the Canadian Symposium on Consciousness Research was organized in 2024 by the Neurophysiology of Altered Consciousness and Critical Care (NAC3) laboratory, in collaboration with MONIC.

Informal discussion groups at cafes about consciousness

The Café Conscience are friendly gatherings where enthusiasts come together to freely exchange ideas about consciousness, share their perspectives and explore ideas in an open and accessible setting.

Collaborative workshops on the study of consciousness

Workshops designed to introduce the science of consciousness to diverse audiences. They open spaces for dialogue to address together the questions and issues related to consciousness in their specific context.
