Science Communication Writing Competition on Consciousness
On September 17, MONIC launched a popular science article competition with the aim of contributing to its primary mission : to highlight scientific knowledge in the field of consciousness , and to address the concrete issues that this raises from a scientific, philosophical and societal point of view.

Member of the editorial committee
Bruno Dubuc, M.Sc.
A science communicator, he holds a master's degree in neurobiology from the University of Montreal. He worked for about ten years as a journalist and science researcher, both in print and on television. In 2002, he launched the website "The Brain at All Levels" and in 2010 the blog of the same name. Since 2014, he has given lectures on neuroscience and is part of the UPop Montreal volunteer collective that organizes free courses in bars, including several on neuroscience, which he has also had the pleasure of leading. In 2024, he published the book " Our Brain at All Levels: From the Big Bang to Social Consciousness " with Écosociété.
Trainer in science communication
Marie-Paule Primeau
Editor-in-Chief of the journal Dire (University of Montreal) since January 2015. A freelance copy editor for Protégez-Vous magazine, she has over ten years of experience in writing, editing, and editorial supervision. Specializing in science communication, she assists researchers in disseminating their work clearly and accessibly. She notably founded and led workshops for the UdeM Science Communication Clinic and recently offered a science communication training workshop at IVADO. She is also
Member of the National Magazine Awards jury for four years, contributing to the evaluation
excellence in editorial creation in Canada. Marie-Paule is pursuing studies
graduates in publishing at the University of Sherbrooke.

Emmanuelle Lescouet, PhD
Editor for various projects, she currently directs the literary journal Nuit Blanche . She teaches publishing and cultural mediation at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and the Université de Montréal. Her research focuses on imaginaries of hope such as hopepunk and cosyfantasy, as well as the accessibility of culture, particularly through digital means and utopian experiments.
